This handmade cactus skeleton pendant is made from actual Prickly Pear cactus skeletons (skeleton closeup shown). Using the lost wax casting process, each piece starts with a carefully selected section of Prickly Pear cactus skeleton.

Jewelry made from the desert
Each cactus piece is handmade using a lost wax casting process.
- I choose section of dried prickly pear cactus fiber (yep, the dried cellulose from inside the cactus).
- I make a mold of that piece of cactus fiber, then pour silver or gold into the mold.
- The result is a solid metal copy of the cactus fiber, which I then made into a unique piece of jewelry.
